Assistant Finance Manager

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you are responsible for helping the organisation accomplish its objectives by performing financial and management reporting, consolidating operational information of the entities in the PhillipCapital Group, safeguarding of the assets by enforcing a high standard of internal controls, compliance with the regulatory requirements and company policies.
Depending on competencies and personal attributes, you might involve in treasury management, sub-group consolidation, IT Automation project, liaison with various stakeholders, this includes but not limited to other business units, internal and external auditors and bankers.

  • Perform operational authorisation and banking approval
  • Cash management and cash flow reporting, including daily forecasting and budgeting
  • Risk Based Capital (RBC) reporting and review, as well as handling regulator queries
  • Review proprietary trading stock performance, brokers and counterparty reconciliation
  • Review financial and operational reporting, end year closing and handling audit process
  • Preparation of information to meet regulatory reporting requirement of various authorities such as ACRA, IRAS, MAS, SGX, CDP and others.
  • Ensure compliance with the Securities and Futures Act regulations (“SFA”) and all other regulations applicable to the Group
  • Assist in system and business process enhancement by constantly provide IT and non-IT solutions to improve internal controls, effectiveness and effiency.
  • Perform operational authorisation and banking approval
  • Other ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualifications: Degree in Accountancy. Professional qualification is a plus.
  • Working experience in financial and/or securities broking industry will be advantageous
  • IT knowledge and exposure relating to IT system development/management is a plus
  • At least 4 years of commercial/accounting/Big4 auditing experiences
  • Applied knowledge of corporate secretarial work and the SFA will be an added advantage.
  • Positive, meticulous, systematic, assertive, analytical, possess strong problem solving skills, good oral communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under tight timelines and withstand pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
