Intern, Research Analyst

Phillip Securities Research is looking for an intern for its research department. This position will be exciting, demanding and rewarding. The research team produces equity research and investment strategy reports to support PhillipCapital’s internal sales teams and clients.

As a Research Analyst intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to equity research processes including idea generation for initiations, financial modelling, valuation and company/sector analysis in a professional research environment.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Support analysts in conducting fundamental equity research and provide investment ideas on Singapore/United States sectors and companies.
  • Assist with building and updating financial models, drafting of research reports and preparing presentation content to investors.
  • Monitor news flow, earnings releases, macroeconomic data and corporate announcements to summarise key implications for covered companies and sectors.
  • Participate in company result briefings, investor calls and engaging with industry stakeholders together with senior analysts where appropriate, and document key takeaways.
  • Support the department’s IT automation, AI-related projects and initiatives.
  • Any other ad-hoc requests by the department.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accountancy, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in equity markets, self-motivated, possesses an inquisitive and analytical mindset.
  • Proficiency in basic accounting, corporate finance and valuation concepts (e.g. DCF, multiples, ratio analysis etc.); prior coursework/projects in investments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of IT automation and coding would be a plus.
  • Able to commit to a full-time internship of at least 3 months; please indicate availability period in your application.
