About the Role
Phillip Nova is seeking a technically inclined and analytical individual to join our FX & OTC Markets Dealing Desk. This role focuses on driving automation, process improvements, and data-driven initiatives across our FX, Precious Metals, and CFD businesses.
The successful candidate will leverage programming and analytical skills to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and optimise trading and risk management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain automation tools to streamline daily dealing desk operations.
- Identify manual processes and operational inefficiencies, proposing technology-driven solutions.
- Build scripts, dashboards, and monitoring tools to improve efficiency, reporting, and risk oversight.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to digitize and automate business workflows.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Analyze trading, client, and market data to identify trends and business opportunities.
- Develop reports and dashboards to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support trading, risk management, and operational initiatives.
Trading & Risk Support
- Assist in enhancing tools used for trading, hedging, and risk management activities.
- Support the monitoring and analysis of trading flow, market-making performance, and liquidity metrics.
- Contribute to projects that improve trading efficiency and operational controls.
Dealing Operations
- Undergo structured training to gain exposure to FX, Precious Metals, and CFD dealing activities.
- Provide dealing desk support and operational coverage when required.
- Participate in rotational shift and public holiday coverage based on business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in Python is highly preferred. Knowledge of SQL, VBA, C++, Java, or similar languages will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Strong Passion in financial markets and technology-driven solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior exposure to automation, data analytics, software development, or financial markets will be an advantage.
- Candidates must obtain the relevant Capital Markets Services Representative licences and certifications. Existing passes in RES1A, RES2A, RES5, CM-EIP, or CM-SIP will be advantageous.
