Client Onboarding Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager, Client Onboarding to lead the account onboarding and maintenance function while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and service quality.

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing effective controls and efficient workflows for account opening, account maintenance, and client data management. You will ensure Customer Due Diligence (CDD) processes are conducted in compliance with applicable Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Common Reporting Standard (CRS), and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) requirements.

You will work closely with the Compliance, Business Development, Operations, and Technology teams to resolve escalated issues, improve operational processes, and ensure regulatory obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Account Processing Unit in the onboarding and maintenance of client accounts.
  • Ensure customer records are accurately created, maintained, mapped, and secured within the organization’s systems and databases.
  • Review and oversee Customer Due Diligence (CDD), KYC, AML, CRS, and FATCA documentation in accordance with regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
  • Conduct periodic client review exercises, including outreach and collection of updated client information, supporting documentation, and declarations.
  • Manage data cleansing initiatives to maintain the accuracy and completeness of client records for CRS and FATCA reporting.
  • Monitor account processing activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve enhanced turnaround times and service standards.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Business Development teams to investigate and resolve complex or escalated client onboarding and maintenance issues.
  • Lead system enhancement projects, including user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation of new regulatory requirements, and process automation initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain operational controls, procedures, and documentation to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Prepare management reports and track key operational metrics, service levels, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of executives and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Identify training needs and ensure staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge of regulatory and operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Banking or a related discipline is preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, including account onboarding, account maintenance, client servicing, or operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), CRS, and FATCA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing client data remediation, data cleansing, client outreach, or periodic review exercises will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Meticulous, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
