PhillipBank Opens Branch in Cambodia

Singapore, 16 Dec 2019 – PhillipCapital Group launched a brand new signature bank branch at Kampuchea Krom Blvd in November this year. The new PhillipBank branch sports a new design that will eventually be adopted by all other branches in Cambodia, and is part of the bank’s rebranding effort as it completes a merger with Kredit Microfinance.

Mr Lim Hua Min, Executive Chairman of PhillipCapital Group, shared at the opening ceremony that the bank’s goal is to continue bringing customers new experiences and technology in financial services. “Our model branch at Kampuchea Krom represents our aspirations to this new approach to banking, from an updated and contemporary look and feel to new functions aimed at enhancing the customer experience,” he said.

With PhillipBank holding 6 branches in Phnom Penh and Kredit managing 83 branches across Cambodia, the merged entity will be the third largest branch network bank in Cambodia, offering a wide range of financial services to customers.

Mr Michael Tan, Singapore Ambassador to Cambodia, noted that PhillipBank’s growing footprint indicates the confidence in Cambodia’s peace and stability. He hoped that PhillipBank would continue to support the development of Cambodian society with strategic corporate social responsibility initiatives in the arts, education and community development.
